Here is a reminder for the talk hosted by Wombat Forestcare next Saturday at Trentham.
This talk should be really interesting – Steve Williams on Moths. Did you know that there are over 140 families of moths with somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 species but only about 400 butterfly species. Many moth species are undescribed.
Steve found a new species on his property at Eppalock and we will learn about moths in our environment.”

Fungi are starting to be more obvious as we head into autumn. If you are interested in being able to get a better handle on the different types then you may be interested in a great publication by Wombat Forestcare. They have recently launched ‘Fungi of the Wombat Forest and Macedon Ranges’. The guide has colour photographs of 108 of the more familiar local species as well as information about identification.
Many of the species are found in a wider area than the Wombat Forest and Macedon Ranges so the guide is a great addition to your backpack for your forays into a forest.
To obtain a copy of the guide either send a cheque for $6.60 to Wombat Forestcare, 715 Little Hampton Road, Glenlyon, 3461 or pay this amount into their bank account Wombat Forestcare Inc, Bendigo Bank, Account no 129301610, BSB 633 108 and email firstname.lastname@example.org to say you have done this. Please do not forget to include your postal details. If you belong to a group and would like to buy 20 or more contact the Wombat Forestcare at the above email address.
