Trench Reserve is an area of geological significance

Are you interested in geology, prehistoric plants, enjoy a great view or just keen to celebrate the work of a volunteer committee? Council Trench Reserve  was saved from being turned into another housing development and has an interesting history.

To celebrate Earth Sciences Week 2014, Bacchus Marsh Council Trench Reserve Management Committee Inc. invite all interested people to visit this Crown land reserve to help celebrate the volunteer management committee’s 10 years of progress.

WHEN: Saturday October 18th 2014.
TIME: 10.30 – 11.30 a.m.
WHERE: Council Trench Reserve aka Triassic Park,Tramway Lane, Darley (Bacchus Marsh). (Melway – Map 333 C 3)

Walking tours of the reserve will be offered and a new sign explaining the geological significance of the Triassic-aged sedimentary rocks in the Council Trench will be introduced.
