Funding for landholders in Corangamite Region

Carbon Capture Project

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (see the website for a map of the area) has funding available for landholders to manage remnant vegetation and wetlands, or implement new revegetation projects.

The Conservation and Carbon Capture Project has funding available for a range of landholders across the Corangamite region. The project is funded under the Australian Government’s Biodiversity Fund.
Landholders who submit a formal expression of interest will receive an obligation free site assessment and a draft management plan.

The plan will provide information on a landholder’s native vegetation and/or wetland sites by identifying:
• vegetation type
• improvement and maintenance opportunities
• advice on management options.

Landholders wanting to undertake revegetation of cleared areas will receive information regarding planting lists of indigenous species and other management advice.
Landholders then submit the estimated financial return they seek in order to carry out the actions in the management plan.

The project uses a competitive allocation process to award the funding. Successful landholders can then sign a five-year agreement.

For further information http://www.ccma.vic.gov.au/What-we-do/Community-Funding-/Carbon-Capture-Project.aspx, and to register an expression of interest, telephone Chelsey Langley on (03) 5224 9409 or email chelsey.langley@ccma.vic.gov.au.

Be quick because places are limited and it might not be possible to accommodate all expressions of interest received.
