Native grassland as seen by a BBC film crew

If you are interested in native grasslands or even in small mammals then you may appreciate these two small youtube clips. Colleen Miller is a great advocate of our native grasslands especially the ones close to Melbourne. She is also the part time facilitator for the Western Melbourne Catchments Network Inc.

When contacted by someone from BBC Films who had seen her network’s website, she  persuaded  them to go the Mt Rothwell Biodiversity Interpretive Centre   and the result is two interesting items about the grasslands.

A serious fence for predator control at Mt Rothwell

Follow the link from the networks website to the grassland clips which are part of the BBC’s Secrets of Our Living Planet Series.

Still on grasslands, there is a new book called Plants of Melbourne’s Western Plains, find out more on the network’s site.
