Did you know there is a society for people interested in bats? It shouldn’t be a surprise because bats have generated interest for centuries. In April there was a meeting of the Australasian Bat Society and an interesting series of fact sheets have been put on their website. http://ausbats.org.au/#/bat-information-sheets/4562894228
One interesting bat fact is that despite some species of microbats weighing less than a 10cent coin, they can fly up to 10 km in a single night!
One of the bats that seems to attract the most attention is the microbat, probably as they are the ones that pay us a visit inside the house. If you only look at one factsheet then the one titled Bats in the belfry provides information on how to get bats out of your walls, how to identify bat droppings and how to make a one way bat flap.
